About the Job...

The Activity Sales Agents are responsible for supplying guests with accurate information about our services and facilities as well as effective use of sales skills to aid in the sale of those services.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

Reports to the Dispatchers, Assistant Manager of Activities, and the Manager of Transportation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Activity Sales Agents are responsible for supplying guests with accurate information about our services and facilities as well as effective use of sales skills to aid in the sale of those services.  Responsibilities include:
  • Provide professional and courteous service to Yellowstone guests, while meeting or exceeding financial goals.
  • To actively promote and sell park activities, transportation and campsites.
  • Maintain a proper bank, provide accurate handling of monies and prepare accurate remits.
  • Accurately collect payment, post activity tickets and balance cash drawer and credit cards; authorize credit cards as needed.
  • Provide information to the Dispatchers, Assistant Manager of Activities, and the Manager of Transportation concerning Activity Sales.
  • Work independently, accurately, and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Promote and educate guests on environmental & recycling policies and procedures.
  • Acquaint guests with services available in the area.
  • Understand and adhere to Department and Company policies and procedures.
  • Assure a safe and enjoyable work environment for guests and employees.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with National Park Service personnel.
  • Custodial and /or groundskeeping duties when necessary.
  • To assist other departments as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Human relation skills – must be a people person who thrives on public contact.
  • Communication skills.
  • Sales skills.
  • Accounting Skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions accurately.
  • Ability to learn technical aspects of the activities booking process, including computer operation.
  • Ability to work thoroughly and quickly under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Knowledge of Yellowstone facilities, activities, features and services.
  • Knowledge of Company policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals.
  • Must be flexible and open to changes in procedures.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Occasionally lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Standing for up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Walking, bending and lifting.  Could total up to 4 hours per shift.

AUTHORITIES:

To take necessary steps to ensure excellent guest service.
To respond immediately to any unsafe condition.
