About the Job...
The Boiler Technician is responsible for the total daily operation and maintenance of boilers and related equipment.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports directly to Boiler Plant Supervisor and/or Location Maintenance Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the total daily operation and maintenance of boilers and related equipment.
- Maintains and monitors fuel inventories.
- Accountable for materials used and ordering of items needed for job completion or inventory
- replacement per established Company procedure.
- Does other non-utility related repair and maintenance tasks when necessary.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Insures all boiler and boiler related equipment are maintained in good working order.
- Establish and maintain proper boiler water chemistry by adding proper chemicals and following daily testing procedures.
- Repairs and maintains all boiler equipment, including steam and condensate lines.
- Insure hot water and steam are available where and when needed by maintaining equipment at
- its maximum efficiency.
- Knowledge of operation and design of boilers and related equipment, as well as proper maintenance
- and preventative maintenance procedures.
- This position will require the use of respiratory protection. OSHA standards require a clean-shaven face and a medical screening.
- Comply with all current related safety and health requirements.
- Able to read, understand and comply with all current Company policies and procedures.
- Must be able to differentiate colors required for boiler water testing.
- Must be able to work in extremely confined areas, hot temperatures, heights, and noisy environment.
- Must possess an applicable, valid boiler operator's license and/or proof of experience.
- Must be capable of lifting objects weighing up to 70 pounds.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.

Work with maintenance and location personnel.
