Camper Services Attendant
Camper Services Attendant
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Report to the Camper Services Manager, Campground Manager and/or Camper Services Lead.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Camper Services Attendants are responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary shower and laundry facility for the benefit of Park guests, under the direction of the Camper Service Manager/Lead. Responsibilities include:
- Provide professional and courteous service and basic area information to Yellowstone guests.
- Perform cashier duties at the facility.
- Maintain a proper bank, provide accurate handling of monies and prepare accurate remits.
- Promote park activities.
- Cleaning, maintaining, disinfecting and stocking the entire facility, including public showers, laundry and restrooms.
- Groundskeeping, litter control, emptying and maintaining trashcans and recycling areas.
- Maintain an awareness of needed supplies and maintenance problems.
- Wash, dry and fold towels, washcloths, and mats.
- Sweeping and/or vacuuming.
- General dusting when and where necessary.
- Handling and stocking ice and wood as needed.
- Understand and adhere to Lodging Department and Company policies and procedures.
- Maintain daily communication shift logs.
- Assure a safe and enjoyable work environment for guests and employees.
- Promote and educate guests on environmental and recycling policies and procedures.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers.
- Maintain a good working relationship with National Park Service personnel.
- Assist other departments as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Human relations skills – must be a people person who thrives on public contact.
- Communication skills.
- Sales skills.
- Basic cashiering/cash handling ability.
- Ability to learn technical aspects of the POS (Point of Sale) Computer Register System.
- Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work thoroughly and quickly while under pressure.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals, their usage and chemical safety.
- Knowledge of Yellowstone facilities, activities, features and area services.
- Knowledge of Company policies and procedures.
- Must be flexible and open to changes in procedures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Moving boxes of firewood and bags of ice outward and above the shoulder for extended periods to a maximum height of 5’6”. Could total up to 2 hours a day.
- Walking, bending, lifting and scrubbing. Could total up to 8 hours per shift.
AUTHORITIES:
- To take necessary steps to ensure excellent guest service.
- To respond immediately to any unsafe condition.
