Dorm Custodian

About the Job...

Dorm Custodians...help to create and maintain a good living environment for residents of employee housing in Yellowstone. As a member of the Personnel Team, this position plays an integral part in the unique lifestyle that living in a national park offers.

Dorm Custodians wear uniforms provided by the company. Employees may choose to wear clean, untorn, unpatched, unadorned blue jeans in a traditional fit (no loose pants). Employees must provide close-toed shoes.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to the Personnel Manager on location.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support fellow staff members efforts and contribute to the team effort in whatever capacity may be needed.
• Use proper operating and preventative maintenance techniques with company issed equipment and cleaning agents, such as vacuum cleaners and chemicals.
• Perform routine cleaning duties to maintain health and fire safety standards in residence.
• Report to the Personnel Manager daily for check in and check out.
• Handle issued keys with proper level of security.
• Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as a team player.
• Basic knowledge of housekeeping procedures.
• Organizational skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift and move up to fifty lbs.
• Ability to walk moderate distances and climb stairs multiple times throughout shift.
• Ability to sustain long periods of standing, bending, flexing, pushing/pulling vacuum.

AUTHORITIES:

Reporting of facility maintenance issues.
