About the Job...
The Laundry Help - Wash Deck/Tunnel Operator positions in Yellowstone provide guests with good quality linen product used throughout the park. Teamwork and positive communication with all supervisors and co-workers are essential in this fast paced, high heat environment.
Laundry Help staff wear uniforms provided by the company. Employees may choose to wear clean, untorn, unpatched, unadorned blue jeans in a traditional fit (no loose pants). Employees must provide supportive, close-toed shoes.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to the Wash Deck Lead.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Wash Deck & Tunnel Operator produces clean linens ready for finishing, using industrial washer/extractors, continuous batch washers, and tumble dryers
- Operate the tunnel washers, washer/extractors, and drying tumblers according to laundry procedures.
- Monitor all equipment for correct operation.
- Monitor chemical injections and chemical inventories according to laundry procedures.
- Keep the wash deck and tunnel area clear of linens on the floor. Keep emptied bins neat and organized.
- Follow proper safety practices as specified by laundry management including lockout-tagout, and personal protective equipment such as chemical protective gear.
- Deliver empty laundry bins to the bin washing area in an organized way.
- Meet or exceed laundry production standards.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions accurately.
- Basic computer skills helpful, including the ability to start and stop computer-controlled equipment.
- Good organizational skills, including the ability to plan production sequences, coordinate production through multiple stages, and coordinate with the finish floor to optimize overall production.
- Mechanical skills, including the ability to start and stop equipment, set appropriate cycles and formulas, and monitor proper operation.
- Basic accounting skills, including the ability to maintain production logs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position requires the use of respiratory protection while handling potentially infectious linens. Medical qualification and a clean-shaven face are required.
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching outward and above the shoulder for up to 6 hours per shift.
- Repetitive motion of arms, wrist, and hands for up to 7 hours per shift.
- Requires occasional climbing, crawling, and squatting/kneeling up to 3 hours per shift.
- Must be able to lift items weighing up to 55 pounds frequently.
- Must be able to push or pull wheeled items weighing up to 400 pounds frequently.
- Must be able to wear hearing protection up to 5 hours per day.
- Must be able to work in a hot environment of 89? to 100? up to 7 hours per shift.
AUTHORITIES:
