Laundry Technician
LAUNDRY MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports directly to Laundry Maintenance Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain a safe working environment in accordance with Company policy and applicable law.
Repair and maintain industrial laundry equipment and associated building.
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on industrial laundry equipment and associated laundry building facility.
Account for materials used and time spent for job completion per Company.
Maintains a spirit of cooperation within department and throughout the property.
May assist with training and familiarizing Laundry personnel with the proper operation and maintenance of laundry equipment.
Performs other non-related tasks when necessary.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Must possess the analytical ability required to perform predictive, scheduled and emergency maintenance for all industrial laundry equipment and mechanical systems throughout Company operated facilities.
Knowledgeable of tools and materials required to efficiently start up, maintain, repair, and shut down commercial laundry equipment and mechanical systems.
Working knowledge of oil-fired boilers, 480-volt 3-phase electrical systems, and mechanical systems.
Knowledgeable in electrical, mechanical, plumbing and carpentry skills.
Must possess the interpersonal skills required to efficiently communicate at all levels.
Must possess the working knowledge and comply with current International Codes, NFPA and OSHA regulations.
Ability to read blueprints, equipment manual and maintenance procedures.
This position may require the use of respiratory protection and will require compliance with applicable regulations.
Must be knowledgeable, understand and comply with all Company policies and procedures.
Must be able to differentiate colors required for boiler water testing.
Must be self-motivating, be able to work independently with limited supervision, and be willing to work off-hours when required.
Must possess a valid drivers license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to work in confined areas.
Must be able to work in areas with hot temperatures ranging from 80 to 120 degrees for up to 30 minutes.
Must be able to work in a noisy environment and be willing to wear hearing protection.
Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights of up to 10 feet off the ground.
Must be able to differentiate colors required for boiler water testing.
Must be capable of lifting objects weighing up to 70 pounds.
Must possess physical stamina and condition to be continuously active including walking, bending, crawling, and lifting overhead throughout an eight-hour shift
AUTHORITIES:
To prevent and report the occurrence of unsafe work practices and situations.
To interact with maintenance and operations personnel to understand problems and communicate corrective actions and schedules.
