About the Job...

For Truck Drivers in Yellowstone ensure the movement of linens and other Laundry Operations products around the park. Drivers operate vehicles up to 62-feet in length over narrow park roads late at night, in various weather conditions.

Truck Drivers wear uniforms provided by the company. Employees must provide leather, close-toed shoes.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports directly to the Manager, Distribution.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Deliver clean linens to locations, and pick up and return soiled linen to the laundry.
  • excellent service to laundry customers.
  • Interact with guests and location personnel in a cooperative and professional manner.
  • Operate commercial cargo vehicles up to 62-foot tractor/trailer, including night driving on 2-lane mountain roads.
  • Assist shipping clerks in assembling linen orders.
  • Load linen bins at the laundry, deliver clean linens to locations promptly and accurately according to shipping orders, unload clean linens and load dirty linens, and return dirty linens to the laundry.
  • Comply with traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company policies regarding vehicle inspection and safety and driving time limits. Complete all logs and forms according to company policy.
  • Report all truck mechanical problems to the Distribution Manager and Service Center per company policy.
  • Keep vehicles clean at all times, inside and out.
  • Maintain a safe work area according to laundry policy.
  • Assist in special projects as assigned.
  • Meet or exceed production and quality standards.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: 

  • Must hold a current class A CDL with air brake endorsement, and a current DOT physical qualification.
  • Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions accurately.
  • Ability to work unsupervised while delivering excellent service and exercising good judgment in unexpected situations.
  • General mechanical skills, including routine vehicle maintenance checks and identifying problems during vehicle operation.
  • Mountain and night driving skills.
  • Knowledge of state and national traffic laws.
  • Must have a safe driving record.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Standing, walking, sitting, reaching outward and above the shoulder for up to 6 hours per shift.
  • Repetitive motion of arms, wrist, and hands for up to 7 hours per shift.
  • Requires occasional climbing, crawling, and squatting/kneeling up to 3 hours per shift.
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 75 pounds frequently.
  • Must be able to work in an environment of 30º to 50º up to 7 hours a day.
  • Must be able to drive for up to 3 hours at a time.
