Server Assistant

SERVER ASSISTANT

About the Job:

Server Assistants help guests, servers and hosts in our dining rooms by clearing, cleaning and resetting tables and keeping beverage glasses filled. And, as with all of our front of the house staff, Server Assistants answer guests' questions, listen to stories of adventure and share their own enthusiasm for the Park.

Server Assistants wear uniforms provided by the company. Employees must provide their own black leather, closed-toe, non-skid shoes and dark socks.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports directly to Dining Room Manager and/or Food & Beverage Manager on duty.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide excellent guest service in an efficient manner.
  • Serve and re-fill water to guests; clear and set tables in accordance with all sanitation and service standards; assist servers as requested and transport dirty tableware from the Dining Room to the dish drop area.
  • Knowledge of all menus.
  • Knowledge of general guest information.
  • Maintain cleanliness of Dining Room and service areas. Maintain organized and fully stocked side stands within the Dining Room.
  • Complete assigned duties within each shift.
  • Assist host staff as needed.
  • Maintain appearance and uniform standards.
  • Develop and maintain positive communication and teamwork with all co-workers and supervisors: front and back of the house.
  • Handle all guest service issues in an immediate and professional manner.
  • Follow Company and departmental environmental practices to minimize wasted energy and resources.
  • Follow Company and departmental safety practices to minimize risk to self and others.
  • Follow Company and departmental policies and procedures. Hold crew members accountable for the same.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Lifting, balancing and carrying Dining Room service trays.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize under pressure while presenting a calm and pleasant demeanor.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with guests, co-workers, and supervisors. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 30 pounds.
  • Bending and kneeling, stretching and reaching for extended periods of time.
  • Working with required chemicals.

AUTHORITIES:

To respond immediately and professionally to guest service issues and report the situation to the appropriate server or Dining Room Manager on duty.
