About the Job...

Team Leaders are responsible for making sure that our guest rooms are sparkling clean, comfortable and ready for our guests! The ability to develop and mentor a well-functioning team of Room Attendants from a largely inexperienced staff is a key part of this job. This position is one of greater responsibility and requires knowledge of hotel/motel housekeeping procedures.

Team Leaders wear uniforms provided by the company. Employees must provide leather, close-toed shoes.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports directly to the Housekeeping Manager/Assistant Housekeeping Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide our guests with the best in service, courtesy and care.
  • Provide supervision of Room Attendants, ensuring that guest rooms are cleaned properly and in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with the Housekeeping Manager/Assistant Manager on Room Attendant progress and concerns.
  • Report ready rooms promptly after every round, by phone or computer.
  • Comply with Housekeeping policies and procedures.
  • Comply with proper biohazard cleanup procedures.
  • Comply with Ecologix environmental policies and procedures.
  • Lead Room Attendants in daily stretches.
  • Enforce chemical use and room cleaning procedures.
  • Work safely to avoid injuries and accidents, including wearing proper Personal Protection Equipment.
  • Address unsafe conditions and maintenance concerns immediately by turning in Maintenance Requests.
  • Maintain linen room cleanliness and related equipment.
  • Complete daily linen counts by 4:30 pm.
  • Assist with other Housekeeping duties as assigned by the Manager/Assistant Manager.

 

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Organizational skills.
  • Time management skills.
  • Computer/phone skills.
  • The ability to follow instructions accurately.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Stretching, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, climbing up and down stairs up to 7-8 hours per shift.
  • Making beds, stripping rooms, cleaning toilets. Could total 8 hours per shift.
  • Completing a list of 14-18 rooms.
  • The ability to push or pull 50-75 pounds on a daily basis.
  • Working with required chemicals.

AUTHORITIES:

To take necessary steps to ensure excellent guest service.
To report and/or respond immediately to any unsafe condition.
