Transportation
Transportation Department
Is a constant hub of mobile activity! All of Xanterra's Interpretive Tours in Yellowstone originate from the Transportation Department.
Our highly trained and certified Interpretive Tour Guides host tours in and around Yellowstone National Park, driving the tour vehicle while entertaining and educating on-board guests.
Being a Tour Guide is not easy. Each Guide must commit to ongoing learning beyond their initial training. And, the ability to drive large passenger vans and over-sized vintage touring cars or 44-passenger commerical buses, while presenting themed interpretive tours and interacting with guests to answer questions and be part of the group, is a must. Guides do their best to ensure the safety and comfort of guests while giving them experiences in Yellowstone that they could not duplicate on their own.
If you have the skills and the desire to help people fall in love with Yellowstone, have a good driving record and you hold a valid driver's license, we may have an Interpretive position for you!
Want to help our guests find adventure, but don't want to drive?
The Transportation Department hires seasonal Step-On Guides and Activities Sales Agents for work around the park.
Step-On Interpretive Guides accompany outside tour groups as they travel through Yellowstone, giving an interpretive tour the entire way. Step-On Guides often meet buses in or near the park entrances, so some park travel is required.
Staying in your village is even a possibility by becoming an Activity Sales Agent. This position works at/near the front desk of our hotels and lodges. Helping guests choose the right tour, based on time and interests, and making the reservations.
Those interested in this job must be people-oriented and willing to share information about the park to tour participants and any other guest or visitor who needs information.
And...
Each season, we hire staff to clean and detail all of our tour vehicles, including all vans, touring cars and commercial buses.
If you like working in a mechanic's shop-atmosphere and understand that our vehicles must look their best for our guests, then this may be the job for you!
