About the Job...

The Audit Clerk supports and assists the Location Controller and Assistant Location Controller in all aspects of location accounting respoinsibilities. Included among the responsibilities of the Audit Clerk are the following:

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports directly to the Location Controller and Assistant Location Controller.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare daily cash deposit.
  • Responsible for accurate, daily counts of the house bank, issuing and receiving departmental banks, and aiding
       in the efficient ordering of change for the location operation.
  • Audit early sales reports turned in by location departments and correct as necessary to allow the Night
       Auditor more time to work on other reports.
  • Keypunch early reports into Excel® spreadsheets.
  • Post corrections to Room Charges to ensure correct guest charges and post other payments such as
       Xanterra credit cards from early reports.
  • control numbered forms.
  • Ensure that all departments follow Xanterra accounting policy and procedure.
  • Prepare employee advances for terminated employees.
  • Receive, distribute and cash payroll checks throughout the season.
  • Sell meal coupons, exchange currency, provide answers concerning payroll to employees.
  • Provide assistance in the training of new audit clerks.
  • Prepare transmittals and sign for deliveries from the armored courier.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and apprearance while on duty and in dealing with both employees and guests.
  • Responsible for confidentiality and adherence to all Xanterra accounting security and procedural policies.
  • Know the correct procedures for fire alarms and other emergency situations at location.
  • Perform duties outside the job classification, as assigned by management.
  • Follow Company and departmental environmental practices to minimize wasted energy and resources.

    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of accounting procedures preferred.
  • Knowledge of company policy, particularly accounting policy, preferred.
  • Operation of ten-key calculator by touch preferred.
  • Time management skills.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computers preferred.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instruction.
  • General cash handling experience preferred.
  • Physical requirements include:
  • Possess physical stamina and condition to withstand extensive walking,
       standing and/or sitting for up to eight hours, lifing
       and physical activities involved in moving and transporting
       supplies and equipment weighing up to fifty (50) pounds for twenty feet.
  • Posess a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
  • AUTHORITIES:
    To communicate to the Location Controller or Assistant Location Controller any problems concerning the security of company assets.

    To make suggestions to the Location Controller for improving the audit clerk's skills, training methods, report forms, etc.
