About the Job...
The Barista position requires a combination of skills that include
great guest service and the ability to make a good lattè! Hot beverages, including cappuccino, lattès
and espresso, are prepared using our sophisticated coffee machines. Baristas in some locations also
serve alcoholic beverages and must be age 21 or older.
Baristas wear uniforms provided by the company. Employees must bring their own black leather, close-toed, non-skid shoes.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports directly to the Bar Lead and/or Food and Beverage Manager on duty.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide excellent guest service in an efficient manner.
Provide gracious and professional beverage service in an efficient manner.
Maintain a professional appearance and uniform standard.
Develop and promote a teamwork attitude with all co-workers.
Knowledge of menu items and prices.
Keep the Espresso machine, cart, and all other equipment clean, orderly and properly stocked.
Communicate daily with the Bar Lead regarding supplies needed for the Espresso Operation.
Complete assigned duties with each shift.
Maintain open and positive communication with supervisors and co-workers.
Participate in the T.I.P.S. program toward the goal of certification.
Follow and maintain all systems and procedures established by the Company.
Follow and maintain established standards of sanitation.
Operates cash registers properly, accurately handling all revenue transactions
and balancing cash drawer at the end of each shift.
Follows Company and departmental environmental practices to minimize wasted energy and resources.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of brands and selections.
Knowledge of drink recipes and pricing.
Knowledge of Point of Sale or cash register system.
Knowledge of basic sanitation
Ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers and supervisors.
Ability to work independently in an unsupervised facility.
Must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcohol.
Physical requirements include:
Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Able to carry heavy and hot food containers
Able to work with and use various kitchen instruments and equipment
Able to stand on feet for at least eight (8) hours each day
Bending and kneeling
Stretching and reaching
Working with required chemicals
