Campground Coordinator

Campground Coordinator

Reporting Relationship:

Reports directly to the Manager, Campground Training and Standards.

Responsibilities:

  • The Campground Coordinator’s primary responsibility is training and supporting campground personnel. Responsibilities include:
  • Perform all job duties toward the goal of ensuring the best possible guest service, while meeting or exceeding financial goals.
  • Assist the Manager, Campground Training and Standards in development and assembly of the Campground Training Program.
  • To facilitate the Campground Training Program, in a classroom setting, to Campground employees during the location-opening phase and throughout the season.
  • To supervise training participants, assess skills and knowledge, monitor attendance and provide feedback to Campground Managers in regards to their staff’s abilities.
  • Assist at Campground/Camper Services locations providing ongoing training, support and coaching to Campground/Camper Services personnel and managers.
  • Understand and support Lodging Department and Company policies and procedures, and ensure staff members follow policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Maintain an accurate computerized guest registration system.
  • Address guest and employee concerns.
  • Provide field support throughout the season.
  • Assist in training, scheduling, and follow-up of the Firewood Sales Operation.
  • Compile, edit and publish the Campground/Camper Services internal newsletter.
  • Maintain communication with Manager, Campground Operations and Manager, Campground Training & Standards.
  • Assure a safe environment for guests and employees.
  • Promote and educate guests and employees on environmental and recycling policies and programs.
  • Coordinate with Field Accounting, General Accounting Office, Reservations, Computer Center and other departments to insure a smooth-running operation.
  • Assist other departments as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to teach others in a logical and professional manner.
  • Ability to effectively supervise and motivate Campground/Camper Services employees.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • General computer skills - Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher helpful.
  • Knowledge of Lodging Management System (LMS) computer program helpful.
  • Ability to work thoroughly and quickly under pressure.
  • Knowledge of Yellowstone facilities, activities, features, and area services.
  • Knowledge of Company policies and procedures.
  • Must be flexible and open to changes in procedures.
  • In-park and overnight travel required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Standing and walking up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Bending, lifting, kneeling, and climbing up and down stairs. Could total up to 2 hours per shift.

Authorities:

  • The Campground Coordinator has the authority to recommend changes to improve the operation of the Campground Department and training programs.
  • To take necessary steps to ensure excellent guest service.
  • To respond immediately to any unsafe condition.
