Welcome to Yellowstone
We live and work in a very special place—the world’s first national park. Xanterra takes its role as a steward of Yellowstone very seriously and has developed an environmental management system, Ecologix, to ensure we protect this park.
Through our Ecologix program, we incorporate sustainable practices in all aspects of our operations, from food to fuel, and from emissions reduction to renewable energy.
Why Is This Important?
Climate change and environmental degradation are threatening our cherished national parks and public lands.
Did you know that by 2030 all of the glaciers might disappear from Glacier National Park—the result of global warming? Or that the Whitebark pine nut, a staple of the grizzly bear’s diet in Yellowstone, is being destroyed by a beetle that is gaining a foothold because of increasing temperatures?
By drinking from a reusable water bottle, recycling your aluminum can, or turning off lights when not in use, you’re not only helping the environment, but also ensuring that Yellowstone—and all its inhabitants—remain for future generations to enjoy.
