About the Job...

The Laundry Office Assistant works in the center of it all! This position assists the Manager, Laundry Operations in handling correspondence, visitors, recordkeeping and file systems in the Laundry Plant.


REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports directly to the Manager, Laundry Operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor incoming phone calls, mail and visitors.
  • Maintain accurate record keeping: payroll, fuel and mileage records, filing system,
       linen discard and daily production poundage.
  • Prepare all written data including memos, manuals and forms.
  • Track, monitor and adjust inventories: sheets, terry cloth, napkins and tablecloths.
  • Assist in completing uniform inventories.
  • Assist when needed in laundry operations.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.

    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Office organizational skills
  • Business communication skills
  • General knowledge of office equipment including computers
  • Knowledge of company policies
  • Knowledge of laundry policies and procedures
  • Physical requirements include:
        Able to lift and carry 70 pounds
        Bending and kneeling
        Stretching and reaching
        Pushing, pulling and repetitive motions
        Working with required chemicals
