About the Job...

The Musician-Interpreter provides an instrument and performs music for hotel guests. Musicians may present thematic visual entertainment, based on location.
Uniform for this position is provided by the employee, and varies by location.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to the Location Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To conduct themselves in a professional manner with the awareness that all actions and communications are within guest view.
• To maintain a professional appearance and uniform standards.
• To select and perform appropriate pieces of music.
• To perform at acceptable volume levels with sensitivity to guests.
• To be flexible, sensitive and responsive to guest requests and comments.
• To adhere to Xanterra established policy of no "tip" solicitation.
• To be prompt and timely with all scheduling of performances and breaks.
• To provide appropriate instrument and audio equipment used in performance.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Knowledge of performance selections.
• Advanced knowledge of musical instrument.
• Ability to interact with guests in a pleasing manner.
• Ability to maintain and adjust audio equipment and instruments used in performance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

AUTHORITIES

To respond graciously to guest service needs and issues and to report situations to the Manager on Duty.
