The Night Auditor supports the location accounting department by compiling and summarizing the location's daily sales.
The responsibilities of the Night Auditor are important to ensure the smooth running of the location accounting department.
The Night Auditor generally works in the middle of the night, without direct supervision at location.
Included among the responsibilities of the Night Auditor are the following:
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports directly to the Location Controller and Assistant Location Controller,
while working closely with the Assistant Manager, Night Audit.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Audit all sales reports and support documentation turned in by location departments, ensuring
accuracy,and correcting as necessary.
Post corrections to Room Charges and post other payments using the computer reservation system to
ensure correct guest charges, Xanterra credit card postings, etc.
Keypunch necessary reports into a MS Excel® spreadsheet. Complete other reports as assigned by the
Location Controller.
Ensure that Xanterra accounting policy and procedures are followed by all departments.
Responsible for maintaining the security of the accounting office during the night shift.
Provide accurate and timely summaries of daily sales from the entire location for the Location
Controller and location departments.
Responsible for confidentiality and adherence to all Xanterra accounting security and
procedural policies.
Know the correct procedures for fire alarms and other emergency situations at location.
Work without direct supervision and handle situations as they occur at night.
Maintain a professional attitude and appearance while on duty and in dealing with both
employees and guests.
Perform duties outside job classification, as assigned by management.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of the night audit preferred.
Knowledge of accounting procedures preferred.
Knowledge of front desk procedures preferred.
Ability to work quickly and accurately.
Knowledge of company policy, particularly accounting policy, preferred.
Operation of ten-key calculator by touch.
Time management skills.
Organizational skills.
Strong communication skills.
Basic knowledge of computers.
Ability to follow written and verbal instruction.
Must be willing to work nights.
Physical requirements include:
Possess physical stamina and condition to withstand extensive walking,
standing and/or sitting for up to eight hours, lifing
and physical activities involved in moving and transporting
supplies and equipment weighing up to fifty (50) pounds for twenty feet.
Posess a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
AUTHORITIES:
To communicate to the Location Controller or Assistant Location Controller any problems concerning the
security of company assets.
To make suggestions to the Location Controller for improving the audit clerk's skills, training methods,
report forms, etc.
To suggest improvements or repairs of software, hardware, or accounting procedures.
