About the Job...

Dining Room Servers work with our Hosts and Server Assistants to provide Park visitors with great dining experiences in our full service dining rooms. Prompt attention, a warm welcome, informative explanations of the menu options, and professional meal service are the basics of the position. Answering guest questions, directing guests to resources available to them, and sharing their own enthusiasm and knowledge of the Park take our service to the next level of excellence. Previous experience is required for this position.

Servers wear uniforms provided by the company. Employees must provide their own black leather, non-skid, closed toe shoes and dark socks.


REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to the Dining Room Manager and/or Food and Beverage Manager on duty.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide excellent guest service in an efficient manner within a high-volume, high-standard dining room.
  • Accurately record and enter guest orders into the POS system; pick up, garnish and serve food and
       beverages promptly to guests; collect and process all forms of payment, ensuring
       guest satisfaction throughout.
  • Continually develop and improve knowledge of all food and beverage menu items, ingredients and
       preparation techniques, and general guest information.
  • Maximize sales by using suggestive selling and non-intrusive sales techniques.
  • Follow all company procedures and policies when selling alcohol.
  • Ensure a congenial and happy atmosphere for all people in the dining room including guests and co-workers
  • Follow all dining room service procedures, including completing all assigned sidework, maintaining
       the cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen work areas, and checking out with a manager.
  • Collect accurate payment from guests, keep forms of payment organized throughout the shift, and remit
       the exact amount due to the company along with all associated paperwork.
  • Provide a bank of at least $30.00 for the purpose of providing change to the guest.
  • Report to work when scheduled in a clean, neat uniform, meeting all grooming and appearance standards.
  • Develop and maintain teamwork and positive communication with all co-workers and supervisors; front
       and back of the house.
  • Handle all guest service issues in an immediate, professional, courteous manner.
  • Follow company and departmental environmental practices to minimize wasted energy and resources.

    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Lifting, balancing and carrying large, heavy, oval dining room service trays
  • Ability to organize and prioritize under pressure while presenting a calm
       and pleasant demeanor to the guests
  • Ability to communicate positively and effectively with guests, co-workers
       and supervisors
  • Ability to absorb large amounts of information quickly during training including service
       procedures, menus, dining room floor plan and the point of sales system
  • Physical requirements include:
        Able to lift and carry heavy, hot and/or bulky items up to 50 pounds
        on a regular basis
        Able to carry heavy, oval serving trays between dining room and kitchen
        Able to work with and use various kitchen instruments and equipment
        Able to stand on feet for at least eight (8) hours each day
        Bending and kneeling
        Stretching and reaching
        Working with required chemicals
